    I still haven't seen it but have long been intrigued. I read something about Resnais using A LOT of dissolves instead of straight cuts, and considering what he did with straight cuts in Last Year at Marienbad I'm pretty curious what he could do with dissolves. I dunno.

    I had no idea it was in colour.

    Where/how did you get your hands on a copy of Muriel?

    His short documentary 'Le chant du styrene' is also "an important film in its own right." But man oh man are there ever a lot of Resnais films I haven't seen.

  2. That's funny, I didn't even notice the dissolves. As far as I know you can still get Muriel on dvd in canada, somebody lent me a copy of it.

    It's strange for how often his name is thrown around that his films are so difficult to find. Kind of like Kinks albums.

  4. I saw it in a class.

    I think I've seen 3 or 4 Greatest Hits compilations for every Kinks album I've encountered.
